At normal temperature, it is a white crystalline powder with moisture inducing properties. It is easily soluble in water and exothermic when dissolving.Fosfomycin sodium can be combined with a bacterial cell wall synthetase, blocking the first step of bacterial synthesis of the cell wall with the relevant substances, thus playing a bactericidal role.It has antibacterial effect on Staphylococcus, Streptococcus pneumoniae, Escherichia coli, Neisseria gonorrhoeae, Proteus singular, Typhoid bacillus, Serratia bacillus, most of Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Streptococcus pyogenes, Streptococcus faecalis, some indole positive Proteus and some Klebsiella and Enterobacteria.Fosfomycin sodium clinical mainly used in the treatment of sensitive gram-negative bacteria caused by the urinary tract, urinary system, skin and soft tissue, respiratory tract, intestinal tract and other parts of the infection.It can also be combined with other antibiotics for the treatment of severe infections caused by sensitive bacteria, such as sepsis, lung, meningeal infection, peritonitis, adnexitis, intrauterine infection, pelvic inflammation, osteomyelitis, etc.It can also be used in combination with vancomycin to treat methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) infections.
