       Furantoin, also known as furantine, furantine, nifurtoin, nitrofurantoin, chemical name 1-[[(5-nitro-2-furanyl)methylene]amino]-24-imidazolidinedioe, is a synthetic antimicrobial agent with a wide antibacterial spectrum. To most of gram positive bacteria and negative bacteria all have antimicrobial effect, such as golden staphylococcus, escherichia coli, white staphylococcus and suppurative sex streptococcus. Clinical often used for sensitive bacteria caused by urinary system infection, such as mencius pyelonephritis, urinary tract infection. Cystitis and prostatitis and so on. This product has a wide antibacterial spectrum, and its mechanism of action is to interfere with the oxidoreductase of bacteria and block the normal metabolism of bacteria. It has a good antibacterial effect on Staphylococcus, Enterococcus, Escherichia coli, Neisseria (Neisseria gonorrhoeae, etc.), Bacillus subtilis, Shigella, Salmonella, etc. It had a weak effect on Proteus, Klebsiella, Enterobacter and Serratia. It has no effect on Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Generally speaking, microorganism is not easy to taste this drug resistance, after stopping drug use, still can be effective.
