Description
5-Bromo-2-pyridinecarbonitrile is an important chemical intermediate widely used in pharmaceutical chemistry, organic synthesis, and materials chemistry. It can synthesise aza-terphenyl diamidine analogues, which exhibit potent antiprotozoal activity. It can also be used to synthesise pyridine-diketopyrrolopyrrole(PyDPP), a building block for preparing low band-gap copolymers for electron donors in polymer solar cells.
