PRODUCT INTRODUCTION
description
Benzocaine is a local anaesthetic in the ester group and is widely used for pain management. It reduces or relieves painful stimuli, such as pain caused by a needle prick. This type of anaesthesia provides more effective pain control and reduces patient anxiety. Benzocaine gel, liquid, and tablets are FDA approved. However, sprays are not FDA approved and 20% of sprays have been recalled because they contain benzene. Benzocaine has been used to relieve pain associated with pharyngitis. However, due to the risk of methemoglobinemia, use as directed by your doctor.
