1,2-Hexanediol is an alcohol compound commonly used as a solvent, humectant and preservative in cosmetics. It has a moisturising and nourishing effect on the skin, while being able to maintain skin hydration and also soften the skin. In addition, it also acts as a preservative, preventing the growth of bacteria and thus prolonging the shelf life of the product.
