PRODUCT INTRODUCTION
Description
Chloroquine diphosphate is an anti-malarial (Plasmodium) drug and a member of the quinolone family of drugs. It inhibits cell growth and induces cell death in a variety of cancer cell lines; inhibits cell proliferation and viability and induces apoptosis in 4T1 mouse breast cancer cells in vitro. It has anti-metastatic activity and also inhibits autophagy. Blocks receptor-mediated endocytosis of mannose-sugar conjugates by macrophages. Inhibits SARS-CoV-2 infection in vitro (EC50 = 1.13 μM). Chloroquine enhances adeno-associated virus gene transduction in vivo and in vitro and enhances non-viral gene transfection in breast cancer cells.
