PRODUCT INTRODUCTION
Description
Aripiprazole is an antipsychotic selective D2DR (dopamine D2-receptor) antagonist with dopamine autoreceptor agonist activity. Aripiprazole is an activator of SR-1A. Aripiprazole works by binding to dopamine and serotonin receptors in the brain. It is a partial agonist at the dopamine D2 receptor and a partial agonist at the 5-hydroxytryptamine 5-HT1A receptor. This means that it binds to the receptors and activates them, but only partially.
